Description:
Identification Notes:
Very similar to the classic Oyster Mushroom, but appears in late summer/early fall rather than spring and fall, and has a short-lived veil on emergence. Cap may have appressed-fibrillose scales and inrolled margin when young. Pale cap, lateral stem, gills, on dead hardwoods. Generally pale gray or grayish-tan or -white.
